The International Pulsar Timing Array (IPTA) is a consortium of pulsar timing groups worldwide who pool their expertise and resources with the aim of detecting gravitational waves (GW) through the long term monitoring of several millisecond pulsars.

The IPTA's annual science meeting this year will feature an expanded scope, covering more areas of pulsar science than in previous years. It will also coincide with the 2nd international pulsar workshop in South Africa. Topics that will be addressed in the meeting include:

  • Update from PTAs
  • Novel techniques for pulsar timing
  • Techniques and searches for GW
  • Pulsars and the ISM
  • Pulsar magnetospheres and timing
  • Updates from new instruments
  • Theory and observations of pulsars (young/old)
  • MeerKAT pulsar plans
  • Fast Radio Bursts
  • PTAs for GW astrophysics
  • GR tests with pulsars
  • Pulsar surveys and populations
