During the workshop we will all be running different specialised pulsar timing software packages. Such scientific software is usually difficult to install, and continuously changing. As such, we want to make life easier for everyone by providing all the required software pre-installed in an operating system running in VirtualBox.

Installing VirtualBox

Please be sure to have an up-to-date working version of VirtualBox on your laptop. Depending on your current operating system, download one of the following.

• Windows
• OSX
• Linux: probably already in your package manager. Otherwise: here

You will need ~10 GB of free disk space on your laptop.

If you want to test your VirtualBox installation please download the IPTA images from:

• 64-bit
• 32-bit

(Username: ipta, password: ipta)

Please be aware that the images are still being modified slightly, and thus final versions will be distributed on USB sticks during the workshop.
