Student workshop venue

The student workshop will be held June 11th through 15th in Socorro, New Mexico at the NRAO Domenici Science Operations Center (DSOC) Auditorium. All student week attendees should also fill out the NRAO visitor registration form by June 1st.

Travel to/from New Mexico:

The only major international airport in New Mexico is in Albuquerque (ABQ) about 75 miles north of Socorro. Directions from ABQ to the NRAO office in Socorro can be found here.

Transportation to/from airport:

There is no easily available public transportation from Albuquerque to Socorro. All attendees who are able to rent a car and drive are encouraged to do so. We will set up a ride-sharing form to help connect those who need rides with drivers.

Hotel reservations (Socorro):

We have a number of rooms blocked off at local hotels for workshop attendees. The reservation block is listed as NRAO-IPTA. Attendees are required to provide a method of payment when making their reservation. All motels offer free Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast. The reservation block is from June 10 through June 17. The blocks will be released on May 18, 2018.

NOTE: In order to get the rate in the table above, please call the hotels directly at the numbers listed; do not use websites or 1-800 telephone numbers to make your reservations! When making reservations online, you will not get the reservation rate we have contracted with the hotels. Instead, you should call the local hotel directly and ask for the NRAO-IPTA rate. Book by May 18, 2018 to get these rates and to ensure a room is available for you.

Science meeting venue

The science meeting will be held June 18th through 22nd in Albuquerque, New Mexico at The Hotel Albuquerque.

Transportation to/from airport:

The hotel is about 8 miles from the Albuquerque international airport (ABQ). The best options for getting from ABQ to the hotel are probably Uber, taxi, or rental car. It should be a short (approx. 15 minute) drive. See the airport transportation page for more details. Note that the public bus service to the airport does not run on Sundays.

We have rooms blocked off at the Hotel Albuquerque for the duration of the conference, at at rate of $139/night. Reservations must be made by June 3, 2018. To book a room, either:
